*Professor McBaine sat quietly on a silvery gray cushion on the floor of the new redecorated tower room. She was a smallish sort of person. She had short dark hair that framed her round face. Her eyes were a clear and crisp icy blue. She smiled easily, as if this were her gift to the world around her. Her smile stretched beyond the boundaries of her full lips and wondrously straight teeth – it actually seemed to make her eyes sparkle too. She appeared to be shockingly young for a Professor, even at an institution as unconventional as Hogwarts. In short, she seemed to be a mirth filled pixie, sitting on a cushion in the tower more so than a professor. *
“Alright then, she said as the last of the class filed in. I am Professor McBaine, and I will be instructing you in divinations. But, you should have already gathered that. Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself and answer any questions you may have about me. My name is Theda Mcbaine. Prior to accepting the post as divinations professor here, I was an associate professor at Beauxbatons. I used to be a pupil here at Hogwarts -- Ravenclaw, I’ll get that out of the way. I left during my fifth year, at the urging of some of my family elders. I was told I needed to broaden my horizons. I was head girl at Beauxbatons, became a teachers assistant and then an associate professor. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I will now open the floor to you all. Go on, ask me anything.”

*Theda sat patiently, waiting for the first student to break the silence. She recalled how intimidating it was, the first day with a new professor...it always made her feel a bit squimish. Funny that even now, she felt the same way and she was in fact the professor. She cleared her throat*
"Shyness is nice, but it really can keep you from excelling. COme on now, this class rleies heavily upon your participation. I am just itching to award someone some housepoints today. Don;t disappoint me?"
